Paone wrote and directed “Friendsgiving“, which marked her directorial debut. The film was produced by Ben Stiller, Haroon Saleem, Malin Åkerman and Nicholas Weinstock.
Åkerman plays a movie actress named Molly in the film. The character’s best friend Abby, who came out as lesbian when she was 29 years old, is played by Kat Dennings.
Molly and Abby plans to spend a quiet Thanksgiving together, which becomes a large Friendsgiving dinner party. Molly invites their friend Lauren, played by Aisha Tyler, and Molly’s boyfriend Jeff, played by Jack Donnelly.
