Antonio “The Spartan” Caruso, 29, of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia will fight Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 35, of Baguio City, Philippines at “ONE: Inside the Matrix” on October 30, 2020. Both mixed martial artists are coming out of a loss to Pieter “The Archangel” Buist, 32, of Breda, Netherlands.

On October 25, 2019, Buist defeated Caruso via unanimous decision at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia. On January 31, 2020, the Breda native defeated Folayang via split decision at “ONE: Fire and Fury” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

“Of course, there’s a lot of information the both of us can take away from that fight,” Caruso said. “We both fought the same opponent but at the end of the day, that is Pieter and this is Eduard so, for me, we both fought the same person and I’m a different person from Pieter and Eduard is a different person from Pieter so we take what we can and we go into this fight with our own expectations.”

Folayang agreed by saying his “ONE: Inside the Matrix” opponent said “the right word.” The Filipino MMA veteran shared, “We both faced and we both lost to the same person but of course, we have a different style and that’s the best thing that you guys will come and watch on October 30.”

“ONE: Inside the Matrix” marks Caruso’s second outing in ONE Championship. For Folayang, it will his 20th fight in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion.

Featuring six MMA matches, four of which are title bouts, “ONE: Inside the Matrix” will be the first sporting event in Singapore that allows for a limited live audience since it moved into the second phase of its reopening. ONE Championship has added 250 in-person Superfan ticket packages, which are now on sale to watch the event live at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
