One of the factors that make Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 31, a top mixed martial artist in ONE Championship’s flyweight division is his training at Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. He is one of the Filipino MMA fighters who had the chance to fight while the new coronavirus (COVID-19) still freezes many sports activities around the world.

Eustaquio and “The Running Man” Song Min Jong, 28, of South Korea will co-headline “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3,” a pre-taped MMA event by ONE Championship set to be aired in the evening of November 13, 2020. Aside from being more experienced than his Korean opponent, the Filipino contender takes pride in his team.

“We don’t come in fights unprepared,” Eustaquio declared. “We go in there and give it our all. We persevere.”

“We give our blood and sweat just to make sure we come in prepared regardless of who’s in front of us,” Eustaquio continued. “That’s our culture and attitude in Team Lakay.”

Competing professionally since 2010, Song will make his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Inside the Matrix 3.” He is coming out of two ONE Warrior Series wins.

“With a chance to move up the ladder, I expect him to come in hungry, motivated and eager to win,” Eustaquio said of Song. “That’s why I have to be very careful. I believe I am more experienced.”

“I think that will be my edge in this fight,” Eustaquio continued. “The level of competition that I have faced is different and a whole lot harder compared to him. That said, I will be looking for the finish whether it be standing up or on the ground.”

“Expect the unexpected,” the Team Lakay product added. “This is mixed martial arts and anything can happen but like in my last match, I am aiming for a finish once more.”

The last time Eustaquio competed was on November 8, 2019. He knocked out Toni “Dynamite” Tauru, 35, of Finland at “ONE: Masters of Fate” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

“I think this performance is very important for me because I want to show fans that I still exist,” Eustaquio said. “Maybe they forgot. I’m here to remind them of the kind of fighter that I am. I’m excited to be back in my office.”
