Coffey was born and raised in Centerville. Her great-grandmother moved from Italy to the U.S.

On August 8, 2020, Coffey represented the Atlantic Ocean at Miss Earth USA 2020 and competed against 28 other candidates through a virtual competition. She won the title.

On November 28, 2020, Coffey represented the U.S. at Miss Earth 2020 and competed against 81 other candidates through a virtual coronation ceremony. She won the title, making her the international beauty pageant’s first winner representing the U.S.

Also crowned were Miss Earth-Air 2020 Stephany Zreik, 24, of Venezuela, Miss Earth-Water 2020 Roxanne Baeyens, 23, of the Philippines and Miss Earth-Fire 2020 Michala Rubinstein, 27 of Denmark. Amara Shune Lei, 24, of Myanmar, Tessa Ie Conge, 26, of the Netherlands, Sabina Półtawska, 21, of Poland and Krystal Badillo, 25, of Puerto Rico finished in the Top 8.

Coffey’s predecessor Nellys Pimentel represented Puerto Rico at Miss Earth 2019 at the Okada Manila in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines on October 26, 2019. Runner-up to Pimentel was Emanii Davis of Valdosta, Georgia, USA.

Representing the U.S., Davis was crowned Miss Earth-Air 2019. Czech Republic’s Klára Vavrušková is Miss Earth-Water 2019 and Belarus’s Alisa Manyonok is Miss Earth-Fire 2019.
