Nieky “The Natural” Holzken, 36, of the Netherlands was one of the winners at the ONE Championship event “ONE: Big Bang 2.” It was the Dutch kickboxer’s third victory in the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.
Featuring three mixed martial matches, two kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai fight, ONE Championship held “ONE: Big Bang 2” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on December 11, 2020. In the fifth bout of the evening, Holzken fought Elliot “The Dragon, Compton, 31, of Australia in a kickboxing match in the lightweight division.
Justin Brown served as the referee. He put a stop to the heavyweight contest after 1 minute and 36 seconds in the first round when Holzken knocked out Compton via liver punch.
Winning at “ONE: Big Bang 2” improved the professional kickboxing record of Holzken to 93 wins and 16 losses. It was his fifth ONE Super Series fight.
On the other hand, Compton now has 46 wins and 13 losses. In 2018, he became the first Australian martial artist to win in ONE Super Series.
A total of 11 countries were represented at “ONE: Big Bang 2” namely Australia, China, Curacao, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Serbia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States. Compton solely represented Australia while Holzken was one of the two fighters who represented the Netherlands.
Compton stands 180 cm. He trains at Team Compton Training Centre in Auchenflower, Australia.
Holzken is 2 cm taller than Compton. The Dutch kickboxer trains at Team Holzken Helmond in Helmond, Netherlands.
A former Glory Welterweight Champion, Holzken joined ONE Super Series in 2018. The first two opponents he defeated in the league were Cosmo Alexandre, 38, of Brazil and Mustapha Haida, 32, of Morocco.
