Nickolas Gene “Nick” Carter is an American singer and actor. He is best known as one of the five members of the boy band Backstreet Boys.

Carter is of Welsh, Irish, German and English descent. Here are 13 more things about him:


  1. He was born in 1980 in Jamestown, New York, United States to Robert Carter and Jane Elizabeth Spaulding. Robert and Jane owned a bar called the Yankee Rebel in Westfield, New York. He is the oldest of their four children. His siblings Bobbie Jean Carter and Leslie Carter were born on January 12, 1982 and on June 6, 1986, respectively. The youngest were twins Aaron Carter and Angel Carter, who were born on December 7, 1987.
  2. In 1984, he and his family moved from New York to Ruskin, Florida, USA.
  3. Jive Records released his debut solo album “Now or Never” on October 29, 2002. He played Jay Black in “American Dreams” Season 1 episode 6 “Soldier Boy,” which aired on November 3, 2002.
  4. In 2003, he played Ben Hatcher in two “8 Simple Rules” episodes. In the same year, his parents divorced. His father married Ginger R. Elrod in 2004 and their son Kaden Brent Carter was born on June 7, 2005.
  5. On October 20, 2008, he met fitness expert Lauren Michelle Kitt at a gathering at his house in California, USA. He proposed to her in Florida on February 20, 2013 and they got married in Santa Barbara, California on April 12, 2014.

  10. On January 13, 2016, he was arrested in Key West, Florida and was booked on misdemeanor battery. Kitt gave birth to their son Odin Reign Carter on April 19, 2016. He played Jack in the Western film “Dead 7,” which he also executive produced. Also starring Kitt, Backstreet Boys’s A.J. McLean and NSYNC’s Joey Fatone, the film was released in the U.S. on April 1, 2016, in Belgium and in the Netherlands on May 7, 2016 and in Japan on July 18, 2017.
