Morocco is the only country in northwest Africa that was able to avoid Ottoman occupation. Divided into French and Spanish protectorates in 1912, the country regained its independence in 1956.

Islam is the predominant religion in Morocco. The official languages are Arabic and Berber but French and Darija are also widely spoken in the country.

Located in the Maghreb, Morocco is a member of the African Union, the Arab League and the Union for the Mediterranean. The culture in the country is a mixture of Arab, Berber, Sephardi Jews, West African and European influences.

Inhabited by beautiful people, Morocco has numerous places to offer its visitors including Asilah, Merzouga, Fes el Bali, Meknes and Marrakesh. Here is the 2020 list of the 30 most handsome living men who are of Moroccan descent or citizens of the African country:
