Conor McGregor gives Dustin Poirier 17th UFC win on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier, 32, of Coconut Creek, Florida, United States was one of the winners at “UFC 257.” It was the mixed martial arts veteran’s 17th victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 11 MMA matches, “UFC 257” took place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on January 24, 2021 in the UAE or January 23, 2021 in the United States. In the main event of the evening, Poirier fought Conor “Notorious” McGregor, 32, of Dublin, Ireland in the lightweight division.

Herb Dean served as the referee. He put a stop to the lightweight contest after 2 minutes and 32 seconds when Poirier knocked out McGregor via punches.

It was a rematch between the two top lightweights. In their first encounter on September 27, 2014 at “UFC 178,” which was also refereed by Dean, McGregor knocked out Poirier via punches.

Knocking out McGregor improved Poirier’s professional MMA record to 27 wins, 6 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest. From his UFC debut to “UFC 257,” the Coconut Creek native:
