Bratislava’s Natália Hoštáková is Miss Universe Slovakia 2020

Natália Hoštáková, 25, will represent Slovakia in Miss Universe 2020, which is expected to take place in the United States in 2021. She hails from Bratislava, Slovakia.

Miss Universe Slovakia announced Hoštáková’s appointment as Miss Universe Slovakia 2020 on February 10, 2021. According to the announcement, she is currently in the U.S. where she is undergoing a mandatory quarantine due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

In the U.S., Hoštáková is based in San José, California. On February 9, 2021, the Bratislava native took to Instagram to share a photo of herself at the Ottawa International Airport in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Hoštáková is 172cm tall and she is a professional model. She is signed with Cyrus Models, an international modeling agency based in Bratislava.

On August 25, 2019, Hoštáková was one of the 12 candidates of Ceska Miss 2019. She was unplaced while Laura Longauerová was crowned Miss Universe Slovakia 2019.

Including Hoštáková, there are currently 67 candidates confirmed to join Miss Universe 2020. The specific date and venue of the coronation night have yet to be announced.

Slovakia is a member of the European Union. It is a landlocked country bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Austria to the west, Hungary to the south and the Czech Republic to the northwest.

In 1994, Silvia Lakatošová became the first ever woman to represent Slovakia in Miss Universe. She finished in the Top 6.

After Lakatošová, no other candidate from Slovakia placed in Miss Universe. Hoštáková will be the 27th woman to represent the country in the international beauty pageant.

Miss Universe 2020 will be the 69th Miss Universe edition. The reigning queen Zozibini Tunzi, 27, of South Africa was crowned at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States on December 8, 2019.

One of Hoštáková’s Miss Universe 2020 rivals is Klára Vavrušková, 21, who will represent Czech Republic. The latter competed in Ceská Miss 2019 where she was crowned Miss Earth Czech Republic 2019 and was later crowned Miss Earth-Water 2019 in the Philippines on October 26, 2019.
