The promotional transfer of Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 24, was recently announced. While the Igorot mixed martial artist reigned as the bantamweight champion of BRAVE Combat Federation from November 2017 to January 2021, he will have to start from the bottom as he enters ONE Championship.
Loman trains out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. As an MMA fighter, he has been competing professionally since 2012 and has been undefeated since 2016, the same year he joined BRAVE CF.
“It’s an overwhelming opportunity but I’m excited to join my Team Lakay brothers in the biggest martial arts organization in the world,” Loman said. “I’m excited to enhance my skills on this platform and showcase my style to millions of viewers across the globe. Of course, fighting in a new promotion and a new environment will be a challenge but it’s one I’m more than willing to face.”
From 2016 to 2019, Loman competed in six BRAVE CF bouts and won all of them. Two of those six victories were via knockout.
The Team Lakay fighter is expected to make his ONE Championship debut in 2021. Details about his promotional debut are still unavailable.
Whether or not Loman will compete in the bantamweight division in ONE Championship has yet to be confirmed. If he does, it will be interesting to pit him against any of these five bantamweight athletes in the promotion:
