‘I Care a Lot’ star Rosamund Pike wears red Molly Goddard dress at 2021 Golden Globes

Rosamund Pike, 42, wore a red tulle gown when she appeared virtually at the 78th Golden Globe Awards ceremony on February 28, 2021. The dress, along with its bow details, thick straps and velvet bands, was created by British fashion designer Molly Goddard, 31.

“This dress just felt like, whatever happens, I would have fun and I’d find something to laugh about and smile about,” The Independent quoted Pike as saying. “I’d float down a corridor in a deserted hotel and find some fun in that like a pink ghost.”

Pike paired the red Molly Goddard dress with a pair of black combat boots. Completing the actress’s look were red lipstick and straight blunt bob cut hairstyle.

Written and directed by J Blakeson, “I Care a Lot” starred Pike as Marla Grayson, a con artist who is also a professional legal guardian using loopholes in the American conservatorship system to defraud her elderly clients. For the role, she won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

It was Pike’s first Golden Globes win and third nomination. She was previously nominated for her roles in “Gone Girl” in 2015 and “A Private War” in 2019.

In Pike’s acceptance speech at the 2021 Golden Globes, she thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for “recognizing the dark side of comedy.” She also thanked her fellow nominees “French Exit” actress Michelle Pfeiffer, “Music” actress Kate Hudson, “Emma” actress Anya Taylor-Joy and “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” actress Maria Bakalova.

In particular, Pike gave a special acknowledgement to Bakalova. The “I Care a Lot” actress said, “In my movie I had to swim up from a sinking car.”

“I think I’d still rather do that than being in a room with Rudy Giuliani,” Pike continued. “Maria, I salute your brilliance and your bravery.”

The 2021 Golden Globes ceremony was hosted by Tina Fey, 50, and Amy Poehler, 49, virtually from the Rainbow Room in New York, United States and the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County, California, USA. It was the fourth time the duo hosted the awards ceremony together.
