Adriela Chavarria, 21, of Fabens, El Paso County, Texas, United States has been arrested. She was charged with aggravated robbery and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Chavarria allegedly asked a male acquaintance to give her a ride on February 27, 2021 in Tornillo, El Paso County. During the ride, she took out a gun, pointed it at him, forced him to get out and drove away in the car, according to him.
Detectives assigned to the Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station in El Paso, Texas found the car at a residence in El Paso and an arrest warrant was issued for Chavarria. On March 2, 2021, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Warrants and Fugitive Section deputies arrested her without incident at a home in Tornillo, El Paso Times reported.
Chavarria was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. She was out on bail on a previous unauthorized use of a vehicle charge when she allegedly carjacked an acquaintance on February 27, 2021.
Aside from the charges of aggravated robbery and unauthorized use of a vehicle, Chavarria also has warrants for driving without a license and failure to appear in court. Her bonds totaled more than $60,000.
It was not the first time Chavarria was arrested. She was accused of possessing marijuana on March 15, 2017, was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on April 18, 2017 and was released on April 20, 2017.
Chavarria was accused of committing unauthorized use of a vehicle in September 2019. She was arrested, booked into jail and released on a $3,000 bond on January 18, 2020.
The Fabens native went to Fabens High School and worked at Hollister Co. She also goes by Adriela Aleman, stands 5’7″ and weighs 170 lbs.
