Douala’s Angèle Kossinda is Miss Universe Cameroon 2020

Angèle Kossinda, 28, is the official representative of Cameroon in Miss Universe 2020. She is the first representative of the country in the international beauty pageant, which was formed in 1952.

Hailing from Douala, Cameroon, Kossinda was appointed as Miss Universe Cameroon 2020 and her appointment was officially announced on March 5, 2021. She is 175 cm tall and she holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance and a master’s degree in finance management.

This will not be the first time Kossinda is competing in an international beauty pageant. She represented Cameroon at Miss Earth 2017, which was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on November 4, 2017.

Kossinda finished in the Top 16 at Miss Universe 2017. It was Karen Ibasco of the Philippines who won the crown.

On November 12, 2019, Kossinda represented Cameroon at Miss International 2019 at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. She was unplaced.

On December 6, 2019, Kossinda represented Cameroon at Miss Supranational 2019 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, Poland. She finished in the Top 25 and was crowned Miss Supranational Africa 2019.

Prior to these major international beauty pageants, Kossinda was Miss Littoral 2016 and Miss Africa Continent 2017 third runner-up. She finished in the Top 16 in Miss Global Heritage 2017.

 

Armed with experience and confidence, the Duola native has what it takes to become the first ever Miss Universe from Cameroon. If she wins Miss Universe 2020, it will be a back-to-back win for Africa.

Miss Universe 2020 is the 69th edition of the international beauty pageant. Reigning Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, 27, of South Africa will crown her successor on May 16, 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, United States.
