Steve Raydean Dawson Jr., 31, of Lee County, Alabama, United States has been arrested by the Montgomery Police Department. He was charged with the murder of Brandon Whitt, 28, of Montgomery, Alabama.

At around 3:15 a.m. on March 18, 2021, Dawson and Whitt were at a home in the 1800 block of Highland Avenue in Montgomery, Montgomery Advertiser reported. What the two were doing there has yet to be revealed.

Later that morning, Montgomery Police Department officers responded to the residence in reference to someone stabbed. They found Whitt a life-threatening stab wound, WSFA reported.

The officers also arrested Dawson on the scene. At around 7:30 a.m. that morning, he was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Center.

Whitt was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. He later died there from his injuries.

It is still unknown why Dawson stabbed Whitt. The suspect’s bond was set at $150,000.

This is not the first time Dawson was arrested in Alabama. On August 12, 2020, he was arrested in Dothan, Alabama for possession of marijuana.

Dawson previously lived in Columbus, Georgia, USA. He also used to be resident of Bland, Virginia, USA.
