  1. In an interview with a psychiatrist named Dr. William Weitz, she claimed that she was molested by her father from age 8 to 11 and by her brother from age 12 to 15. (a)
  2. She was 19 years old when she gave birth to Caylee on August 9, 2005 in Orlando. A deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test revealed that her former fiancé Jesse Grund is not the father. She claimed she did not know who Caylee’s father is although she once told her mother that the father died in a car accident. She was arrested on suspicion of child neglect on July 16, 2008. She pleaded not guilty when she was charged with first-degree murder on October 14, 2008. Jose Baez led her defense along with co-attorney Cheney Mason who worked pro bono. The defense claimed that Caylee drowned in the family’s pool on June 16, 2008 and George covered up the death so that she would not be charged with child neglect. Baez also accused George and Lee of sexually abusing her. A paternity test proved that neither George nor Lee is Caylee’s father. (b) (h)
  7. On July 5, 2011, the jury found her not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. However, she was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement authorities and sentenced to four years in jail and $4,000 in fines.
