Elizabeth Claire Kemper is an actress, comedian and writer professionally known as Ellie Kemper. She is best known for playing Erin Hannon in the sitcom “The Office,” which aired from March 24, 2005 to May 16, 2013 on NBC.

Kemper is a practicing Roman Catholic. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, United States to David Woods Kemper and Dorothy Ann Jannarone Kemper, Ellie is one of the great-great-grandchildren of insurance man, railroad magnate and banker William Thornton Kemper Sr.

Ellie is married to comedian, writer and producer Michael Koman. Here are 13 more things about her:

  1. In 1985, she and her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Conway Elementary School and John Burroughs School, which are both in Ladue, St. Louis. She was “Mad Men” alum Jon Hamm‘s student.
  2. In 1999, she was crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty in the Veiled Prophet Ball. Founded by prominent St. Louisans in 1878, the Veiled Prophet Organization holds the debutante ball every December in St. Louis.
  3. In 2002, she graduated from Princeton University in Princeton, Mercer County, New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in English. Upon her graduation, she attended Worcester College in the University of Oxford in Oxford, England for a year to pursue a master’s degree in English literature.
  4. In 2006, she played Cindy in the television series “Sexual Intercourse: American Style.”
  5. In August 2007, she starred in a two-minute Derrick Comedy video titled “Blowjob Girl,” which was circulated on CollegeHumor.
  6. In August 2008, she auditioned for a spot on the NBC sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live.” She was not cast.
  7. She played Ms. Griggs in “21 Jump Street,” which hit theaters in the U.S. on March 16, 2012. On July 7, 2012, she and Koman got married.
