Wynne Lee, 23, was driving a white 2018 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen SE on May 21, 2021 while her boyfriend Marcus Anthony Eriz, 24, was in the passenger’s seat. The two live together in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California, United States.
At around 8:00 a.m. that day, Lee and Eriz were involved in a road rage incident in Orange, California. The couple encountered the silver Chevrolet Sonic of Joanna Cloonan who was driving her son Aiden Anthony Leos, 6, to school.

“As I was merging away from the carpool lane, I heard a loud noise and I heard my son say ‘ow’ and I pulled the car over as soon as possible and he had been shot,” NBC Los Angeles quoted Cloonan as saying. “I tried to save him by calling 911 but he was losing a lot of blood..”
The vehicle Lee was driving was registered to her father in Diamond Bar, Los Angeles County, California, according to the Orange County Register. Born to Taiwanese parents, she grew up in the suburbs of the San Gabriel Valley in California and attended Diamond Bar High School.
On June 6, 2021, California Highway Patrol officials recovered the gun Eriz allegedly used to shoot Leos and impounded the white 2018 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen SE in Whittier, Los Angeles County where Eriz’s father lived in the mid-1990s. Lee and Eriz were arrested at their home in Costa Mesa.
