Airmont, New York’s Douglas John Kantor shot in Austin, Texas by Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb?

Douglas John Kantor, 25, of Airmont, New York, United States was looking forward to marrying Adrianna Esposito, 25, his high school sweetheart. Unfortunately, his life was cut short by a gang-related mass shooting in Austin, Texas.

Originally from Airmont, Kantor moved to Michigan, USA and earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Michigan State University and master’s degree in business from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. After earning those degrees, he remained in Michigan and worked as a product manager in the IT department for the Ford Motor Company.

From Michigan, Kantor recently went to Austin to visit a friend. At around 1:25 a.m. on June 12, 2021, he was one of the 14 people shot when a gunfire erupted on East 6th Street in Austin.

Later that day, a male suspect, who is a juvenile, was arrested in connection with the mass shooting. His name and age are yet to be released.

Kantor was rushed to a hospital in Austin where he passed away on June 13, 2021. The other 13 victims survived although one of them was critically injured.

Jessica Ramirez, 34, a mother of five, was celebrating her birthday when he was shot on East 6th Street in Austin on June 12, 2021. On June 13, 2021, she underwent a five-hour surgery.


On June 14, 2021, with the help of the Killeen Independent School District Police Department, the Austin Police Department arrested Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb, 17, in Killeen, Bell County, Texas as a second suspect in connection to the shooting that led to Kantor’s death. Tabb is currently enrolled in a summer school class in Harker Heights High School in Harker Heights, Bell County.

The Austin Police Department has yet to release Tabb’s mugshots but the department has confirmed that he is African-American. He was charged as an adult for aggravated assault.
