Croatia borders Hungary to the northeast, Slovenia to the northwest, Serbia to the east and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to the southeast. The capital of Croatia is Zagreb.
Currently, Croatia has four Miss Universe placements. Representing the European country, Sarah Ćosić finished in the Top 15 in 2009, Elizabeta Burg and Shanaelle Petty finished in the Top 16 in 2012 and 2017, respectively, and Mia Rkman finished in the Top 20 in 2019.
On October 1, 2020, Burg turned 27. She was born in Vrbanja, Croatia.
On February 28, 2021, Petty turned 23. She was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to an African American father and a Croatian mother.
On April 14, 2021, Ćosić turned 32. She was born in Split, Croatia.
On April 28, 2021, Rkman turned 23. She was born in Korčula, Croatia.
Miss Universe Croatia 2020
On May 13, 2020, Mirna Naiia Maric was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2020 at the Hrvatska Radiotelevizija (HRT) Studio in Zagreb. She competed against 18 other candidates.
Runner-up to Maric was Daria Matic of Split. The second runner-up was Andrea Erjavec of Perusic.
On May 24, 2021, Maric turned 22. Born and raised in Zadar, Croatia, she was a recipient of a four-year scholarship to the Zagreb School of Economics and Management in Zagreb.
Miss Universe Croatia 2021
On July 14, 2021, Maric will crown her successor at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb. It is the 25th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Croatia’s Miss Universe candidate.
