Collin Morikawa biography: 13 things about 2021 Open Championship winner

Collin Morikawa is an American professional golfer of Japanese and Chinese descent. He was born in Los Angeles, California, United States to Blaine Morikawa and Debbie Morikawa.

After graduating from La Cañada High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California, Collin went to the University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, California. He played golf while attending the university where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration.

  1. In 2002, his parents convinced the organizers of a junior golf camp at the Scholl Canyon Golf and Tennis Club in Glendale, California to let him participate although he was only 5 years old.

  4. On June 18, 2016, he won the 2016 Sunnehanna Amateur in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA.
