Jose Guillermo Casillas-Flores, 22, of Brentwood, Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California, United States has been arrested by the Walnut Creek Police Department. He is accused of killing Lutfi Abbushi, 25, of San Pablo, Contra Costa County.
At around 1:40 a.m. on July 18, 2021, Cassilas-Flores allegedly opened fire on a group of people outside the Spoontonic Lounge, a nightclub in Walnut Creek. He fired multiple rounds at a car leaving the parking lot, according to witnesses.
Four people were shot including Abbushi, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The three other victims were taken to a nearby hospital and they are expected to recover.
On July 22, 2021, Cassilas-Flores was arrested during a traffic stop. Walnut Creek Police Department officers searched his residence in Brentwood and found a handgun and ammunition.

There were at least 50 people inside the Spoontonic Lounge when Abbushi was fatally shot. The nightclub is owned by Ajit Ahluwalia.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by this,” Ahluwalia said in a statement obtained by CBS San Francisco. “We hate any kind of violence, especially one that’s in our community. Our prayers are with the family of the victim and we will fully cooperate with law enforcement on anything they need.”
The Walnut Creek Police Department did not release other details about the crime. The department is asking those with information related to the shooting to contact Detective Gerstner at (925) 256-3578.
