The Republic of Angola is the seventh largest country in Africa. Located on the west coast of Southern Africa, it is bordered by the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Zambia to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the west and Namibia to the south.

Portuguese is the official language in Angola while Chokwe, Kikongo, Kimbundu and Umbundu are its national languages. It is the second largest Portuguese-speaking country behind Brazil.

João Lourenço, 67, is the fourth and incumbent president of Angola. He assumed office on September 26, 2017.
