Brian Robinette, 35, was at the Radisson Hotel near Pinal Avenue and Florence Boulevard in Casa Grande, Pinal County, Arizona, United States on the early morning of September 4, 2021 when he saw that Giovanni Olivieri, 21, and Olivieri’s girlfriend, 19, were in a physical fight in the parking lot of the hotel. It is unknown whether or not Robinette personally knew the couple.
Robinette tried to break up the fight. In response, Olivieri started arguing with Robinette.
Later, Olivieri pulled out a weapon and repeatedly shot Robinette in the upper torso. Olivieri and his girlfriend fled the scene before Casa Grande Police Department officers arrived at around 2:35 a.m.
Robinette was then transported to the Banner Casa Grande Medical Center in Casa Grande. He later died of his injuries.
At around 3:30 p.m., Olivieri was arrested in front of his girlfriend’s house and he was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center in Florence, Pinal County. The charges to be filed against him have yet to be determined.
It was not revealed whether or not Olivieri, his girlfriend and Robinette were all residents of Casa Grande. The name of the girlfriend was also not released.
Casa Grande was founded in 1879. It t is named after the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, which is located in Coolidge, Pinal County.
