Professionally known as Reiven Umali, Ros Reiven Umali of Carmona, Cavite, Philippines is the grand champion of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” Season 5. He won the singing competition, a segment of the Filipino television show “It’s Showtime,” in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on September 18, 2021.
To win the grand prizes, Umali competed against seven other finalists namely Froilan Cedilla of Laoag city, Ilocos Norte, Adrian Manibale of Parañaque, Metro Manila, Psalm Manalo of San Fernando, Pampanga, Lorraine Galvez of San Fernando, La Union, Gem Cristian of Iligan City, Anthony Castillo of Quezon City, Metro Manila and Aixia Mallary of Sampaloc, Manila, Metro Manila. They each sang one song in the first part of the grand finals.
Umali sang “Creep” by Radiohead and made it to the Top 3 along with Manibale and Castillo, who sang “Falling” by Harry Styles and “Mapa” by SB19, respectively. In the second part, the three each sang a medley.
Manibale was the first one to perform and he sang Ben&Ben‘s “Araw-araw,” “Kathang-Isip” and “Leaves.” He was followed by Castillo who sang Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You,” “Saving All My Love for You” and “Greatest Love of All.”
Finally, Umali sang Moira de la Torre‘s “Paubaya,” “Malaya” and “Tagpuan.” He ended up getting the highest votes from the viewers and the highest combined scores from the judges namely Louie Ocampo, Erik Santos, Jed Madela, Nyoy Volante, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Karylle and Klarisse de Guzman.

It was not the first time Umali competed in “Tawag ng Tanghalan.” He was also a contestant in the second season but was not able to advance to the grand finals.
