At around 8:00 p.m., she walked out of the brush near the fire line and sought medical treatment because she was dehydrated. After being interviewed by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), she was arrested was charged with arson-structure-forest land. Her bail was set at $100,000 bail.   11. She was 30 years old when she was arrested on September 22, 2021. That day, she was found with with CO2 cartridges, a cigarette lighter and a white item containing a green leafy substance. (c)
  12. On September 24, 2021, she pleaded not guilty. She claimed that on September 22, 2021, she was trying to hike to Canada when she became thirsty. She said she found a puddle of water in a dry creek bed with bear urine, tried to make a fire to boil it but it was too wet for the fire to start so she drank the water anyway and continued walking uphill.
