Beijing’s Yang Shiyin is Miss Universe China 2021

Yang Shiyin (是阴阳), 21, of Beijing, China is Miss Universe China 2021. She is currently studying literary and artistic directing at the Communication University of China in Beijing.

The coronation night took place in Beijing on November 7, 2021. As the winner, Shi will represent China at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel on December 12, 2021.

When Yang was admitted to the Communication University of China in 2018, she had the highest score in the national professional school examination. It is the top university in China’s media industry.

In 2013, Yang started volunteering in public welfare activities. Since then, she has been actively participating in the planning and execution of various public welfare and variety shows.

Yang is the 20th woman to represent China in Miss Universe. Currently, the Asian country has four placements in the international beauty pageant.

The Miss Universe Organization is based in New York, United States. It is is owned by WME/IMG

All Miss Universe 2021 candidates are required to arrive in Eilat on or before November 28, 2021. Yang will compete against 72 other candidates.

China made its Miss Universe debut in 2002 in Puerto Rico. The Asian country’s representative was Zhuo Ling (卓灵) of Shanghai, who finished second runner-up.

It was Oxana Fedorova of Russia who won the Miss Universe 2002 crown. When she was dethroned, she was replaced by her runner-up Justine Pasek of Panama but Zhuo was not promoted as first runner-up.

Representing China, Luo Zilin (罗紫琳) of Shanghai was fourth runner-up in 2011. Jin Ye (靳烨) of Beijing and Roxette Qiu (邱蔷) of Sichuan finished in the Top 16 in 2013 and in 2017, respectively.

At Miss Universe 2020, China was represented by Jiaxin Sun (孫嘉欣) of Beijing. She was unplaced.

The crown was won by Andrea Meza of Mexico. She will become the Miss Universe with the shortest completed reign after she passes her crown in Eilat.
