Destiny Wagner biography: 13 things about Miss Earth 2021


Destiny Evelyn Wagner is a Belizean entrepreneur, author and beauty queen. Originally from Punta Gorda, Belize, she speaks English, French and Spanish.

When Wagner was born, her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. With the help of her father and a midwife, her mother gave birth to her in a small house, not in a hospital.

After homeschooling, Wagner attended primary schools in the Toledo District, Belize. She later attended Sunnyside High School in Fresno, California, United States.

Wagner is 5’7″ tall and is the first Miss Earth from Belize. Here are 13 more things about her:


  1. In June 2011, she joined the Community Regional Medical Centers as a volunteer.
  2. From June 2012 to August 2014, she worked for Terry Clark Dance Center in Fresno as a dance instructor.
  3. In May 2014, she joined Operation Kingdom as a volunteer website designer and food coordinator.
  4. From 2014 to 2015, she started marketing at Manhattan College in New York City, New York, USA.
  5. From 2015 to 2018, she attended the Lubin School of Business of Pace University in New York City where she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and entrepreneurship. From October 2015 to June 2016, she worked for CytoSport, Inc. as a muscle milk protein trainer.
  6. In 2016, she moved from Punta Gorda to New York City. When she represented Belize at Miss Caribbean USA 2016, she won Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality.
  7. She worked for Venus ET Fleur in New York as a sales service representative from June 2017 to July 2017 and as an account executive from July 2017 to March 2018.
  8. In May 2018, she published her first book “So you need advice,” which was launched in New York City. From October 2018 to July 2019, she worked for the New York Mets in Flushing, New York as an inside sales representative.
  9. In 2019, she moved from the U.S. to Belize City, Belize. On September 6, 2019, she and seven other finalists competed for the Miss Universe Belize 2019 title at the Belize City Civic Center in Belize City. She was runner-up to Destinee Arnold.
  10. In January 2020, she visited Dublin, Ireland and Reggio Emilia, Italy. In 2020, she and 20 other Belizean writers wrote “Belizean Blues,” which aimed to raise awareness and funds to combat unequal education and child hunger issues in Belize.
  11. On September 28, 2021, she was officially appointed as Miss Earth Belize 2021, replacing Miss Universe Belize 2019 finalist Aarti Sooknandan, who was appointed Miss Earth Belize 2021 in August 2021.
  12. On November 21, 2021, she represented Belize in the virtual coronation of Miss Earth 2021. She competed against 88 other candidates and won the title.
  13. She was 25 years old when she was crowned Miss Earth 2021.
