Jordan Turpin biography: 13 things about ex-Perris, California resident


Jordan Elizabeth Turpin used to live in Perris, California, United States. Her parents David Turpin and Louise Robinette Turpin met at Princeton High School in Princeton, West Virginia, USA and got married in Pearisburg, Virginia in 1985.

Both David and Louise both grew up as Pentecostal Christians. Here are 13 more things about Jordan:


  1. She has nine sisters. Her eldest sister Jennifer Turpin was born in 1988.
  2. She has three brothers including Joshua Turpin, who was born in 1992.
  3. In 1999, she, her siblings and their parents moved from Fort Worth, Texas, USA to an isolated home in Rio Vista, Texas.
  4. In 2007, she and her siblings, except the two youngest ones, were left by their parents in an isolated trailer on their property in Rio Vista. Their parents would stop by once a week to drop off groceries but it was never enough food to feed everyone, according to Jennifer.
  5. In June 2010, she, her siblings and their parents left their Rio Vista property and moved to a two-story home on Saint Honore Drive in Murrieta, California. Their father worked as an engineer for Northrop Grumman in California while their mother was a homemaker.
  6. On October 29, 2011, she and her 12 siblings accompanied their parents, who renewed their wedding vows with Elvis Presley impersonator Kent Ripley at a chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
  7. In 2012, she and all of her siblings, except the youngest one, visited Disneyland in California with their parents.
  8. Around 2015, she got a hold of an old smartphone and discovered Justin Bieber’s music videos. When her mother found out that she was watching a video of Bieber’s music, her mother came at her and began choking her.
  9. In 2016, she started planning her escape from their Perris home.
  10. She was 17 when she escaped from their Perris home on January 14, 2018, which was one day before she, her 12 siblings and their parents were supposed to move to Oklahoma, USA. She called 911 and Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy Anthony Colace arrived on the scene and spoke to her. Police raided their house and found evidence of prolonged child abuse and horrendous living conditions. Their parents were arrested and charged with torture and child endangerment. Her seven adult siblings were taken to Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, California while she and her five siblings, who were all minors at the time, were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. On January 18, 2018, their parents pleaded not guilty to several charges.
  11. On December 29, 2018, their Perris home was put up for auction.
  12. On February 22, 2019, her parents pleaded guilty on 14 felony counts, namely one count of torture, three counts of willful child cruelty, four counts of false imprisonment and six counts of cruelty to a dependent adult. On April 19, 2019, her parents were sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
  13. Diane Sawyer interviewed her and her sister Jennifer in “Escape From a House of Horror,” which aired on ABC and Hulu on November 19, 2021. She revealed that she received her high school diploma in one year and was taking college classes. Jennifer said she was working at a restaurant and was writing Christian pop music.
