The Republic of Tunisia is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east, Algeria to the west and southwest and Libya to the southeast.

On March 20, 1956, Tunisia achieved its independence from France. The Constituent Assembly of Tunisia elected on October 23, 2011 adopted the Tunisian Constitution of 2014 on January 26, 2014.

Kais Saied, 63, is the incumbent and seventh president of Tunisia. He assumed office on October 23, 2019.
