Mikhail Allakhverdian, 29, of Armenia and Russia is set to make his debut in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion BRAVE Combat Federation. It will be his 13th professional MMA bout.
Allakhverdian is coming out of a knockout loss to Sharaputdin “Golden Boy” Magomedov, 27, of Russia at “AMC Fight Nights 105” in Sochi, Russia on October 16, 2021. The latter is an undefeated fighter who currently holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 0 loss.
The loss to Magomedov downgraded Allakhverdian’s professional MMA record to 9 wins and 3 losses. I asked the latter, “After your recent loss at ‘AMC Fight Nights 105,’ which part of your training did you focus on?”
“I didn’t change anything because I think this defeat is accidental,” Allakhverdian told me. “(I just need) a little patience and I will make sure of everything.”
Born in Armenia, Allakhverdian is training out of Rostov-on-Don, Russia. On December 18, 2021, he will fight Miro Jurković, 34, of Serbia at “BRAVE CF 56” at the BelExpo Centar in Belgrade, Serbia in the middleweight division.
Jurković’s original “BRAVE CF 56” opponent was Chad “Superman” Hanekom, 28, of South Africa. The latter was pulled out of the fight card due to travel restrictions amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and was replaced by Allakhverdian a week before fight night.
“I did not watch his fights,” Allakhverdian said when I asked him what he thought about Jurković’s fighting skills. “But according to the coach`s words, he is a strong guy with character. He is able to beat (opponents) and fight but we go to the cage to take our own with all due respect to my opponent.”
“BRAVE CF 56” is the first ever BRAVE CF event to take place in Serbia. It marks Jurković’s third fight in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
