Central Asia is colloquially referred to as the stans. The region has five countries namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, which are all former Soviet republics.

Equestrian sports are traditional in Central Asia, which is the homeland for the Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Tatars, Turkmen and Uyghurs and Uzbeks. The traditional game of Buzkashi is played throughout the region.

Turkic languages largely replaced the Iranian languages spoken in Central Asia except for Tajikistan and areas where Tajik is spoken. Here is the 2021 list of the five most handsome living men of Central Asian descent, born in the Asian region or living in the region:
