Southern Africa is home to many river systems including the Zambezi River. The region has five countries namely Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa, which are the five members of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU).

Established in 1910, the SACU is oldest existing customs union in the world. It is headquartered in Windhoek, Namibia.
