Grenada is an island country in North America. The country is located in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea, particularly northeast of Venezuela, northwest of Trinidad and Tobago and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

On February 7, 1974, Grenada gained its independence from the United Kingdom. On September 17, 1974, Grenada was admitted to the United Nations.

Grenada’s incumbent prime minister Keith Mitchell, 75, assumed office on February 20, 2013. The country’s incumbent governor-general Cécile La Grenade, 69, assumed office on May 7, 2013.
