Christina Marie Darling, 21, has been charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing. She is a psychology student of St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, New York, United States.
Wearing an orange hoodie, black leggings and black Ugg-style boots, Darling was caught on camera stomping up to Aryah Fried‘s son, 8, on a street in Marine Park, Brooklyn, New York City, New York at around 12:30 p.m. on January 14, 2022. The boy was playing with his two siblings, 7 and 2.
“Hitler should have killed you all!” Darling yelled at the children, according to the New York City Police Department. “I’ll kill you and know where you live.”
After launching into an anti-Semitic tirade, Darling allegedly spat on the oldest among the three children. The boy allegedly told her he would save his little sister.
Footage of the incident was released by the NYPD on January 18, 2022. On the morning of January 21, 2022, Darling was arrested.
Fried is Jewish. He told CBS News York that Darling “looks like a person that might have been a safe looking person for the kids.”
“I would hope that she understands the severity of what she did,” Fried said of Darling. “To do it to anybody is obviously problematic but for an adult to do it to a child is just beyond crazy.”
Darling always had issues with Hasidic Jews and believed that they were annoying, do not deserve to be around and should all go back to Israel, her former boyfriend Shayne Yorrick, 23, told the New York Post after her arrest. She has “mental problems,” her mother Michelle Darling told the publication.
“She needs to get help,” Michelle said of Christina. “It’s not like she hates Jews.”
