Jalia Love Jones, 19, of Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, United States has been arrested. She was was charged with murder, attempted murder and second-degree trespassing.

On January 30, 2022, Joines allegedly shot Carl Lee Ellington Jr., 24, and Staekwon Tyjai Taylor, then 23, multiple times at the Spruce Hill Apartments in Asheville. Both victims were rushed to Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Ellington died in the hospital. Taylor survived and is in critical condition at the hospital,

Jones is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center in Asheville and her bond was set at $400,000. Her mugshots have yet to be released.
