He then attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities in Saint Paul, Minnesota for a semester before transferring to South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, USA.
  2. He was a student officer for the South Dakota State University campus police from September 2006 until he graduated in May 2008 with a major in sociology and a minor in criminal justice.

He fatally shot Amir Locke, 22, who was sleeping on a couch in the apartment. He was 34 years old when he was placed on paid administrative leave after the shooting.
