Kameron C. Stone, 29, of Fairfax, Virginia, United States boarded a flight departing from Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia bound for Pensacola International Airport in Pensacola, Florida, USA on April 16, 2021. While intoxicated during the flight, he refused to wear a seatbelt or remain seated, pretended to shoot at passengers and reached for the cockpit door.
Stone approached the front of the aircraft as the flight started its final descent and pushed a female flight attendant who tried to prevent him from opening the cabin and cockpit doors. He grabbed her shoulders and shoved her into the galley wall then breached the main cabin door to the aircraft’s external portion.
The pilots had to declare an emergency with the Federal Aviation Administration and three passengers including an off-duty Deputy U.S. Marshal subdued Stone until landing. During the struggle, three Pinnacle Vodka mini-bottles tumbled out of Stone’s pocket.

On February 8, 2022, Stone pleaded guilty to interfering with flight crew and assault by striking and wounding in special aircraft jurisdiction. The Fairfax resident faces a maximum term of 20 years imprisonment.
On April 28, 2022, Stone will appear at the U.S. Courthouse in Pensacola before the U.S. District Judge T.K. Wetherell II. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer H. Callahan is prosecuting the case.
Fairfax derives its name from Thomas Fairfax, 6th Lord Fairfax of Cameron. The city was founded in 1869 on land indigenous people of the Siouan and Iroquoian tribes originally occupied.
Former WWE professional wrestlers Adam Birch, 42, and Serena Deeb, 35, were both born in Fairfax. The city’s incumbent mayor David L. Meyer assumed office in February 2017.
