Huntsville, Alabama’s Ismael Roldan III placed on leave by Alabama A&M University

Ismael Roldan III, 37, of Huntsville, Alabama, United States works at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Normal, Alabama as a public safety officer. He bas been placed on administrative leave after his recent arrest.

On the evening of February 21, 2022, the Huntsville Police Department arrested Roldan without incident. He was charged with sexual abuse in the second degree and enticing a child.

Roldan was booked into the Madison County Jail in Huntsville. His bail was set at $3,000.

On February 22, 2022, Roldan was released from jail. The Huntsville Police Department has yet to release details about the charges filed against him, which are not related to his role as an officer at the Alabama A&M University.

Established as Twickenham on December 23, 1809, Huntsville was incorporated as a town on December 9, 1811 and as a city on February 24, 1860. The city is the county seat of Madison County, Alabama.

Huntsville’s 67th and incumbent mayor Thomas “Tommy” Massengale Battle Jr., 66, assumed office on November 3, 2008. The city is home not only to Alabama A&M University but also to J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College, Oakwood University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
