Chad Breaux, 43, of River Ridge, Louisiana, United States was taken off a Southwest Airlines flight at Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida, USA on February 24, 2022. He was accused of becoming irate over being forced to wear a mask and causing a commotion on the flight.
“If you are a man, you wouldn’t be wearing masks!” Breaux allegedly yelled at passengers. He later aggressively walked toward the police officers who boarded the plane to escort him from it.
After being removed from the plane, Breaux continued to shout profanities at the passengers and the officers. One of the officers took him to the ground when he took on a fighting stance with his hand ready to strike.
Breaux was arrested at the airport. Among the charges he is facing are disorderly conduct, assault on a law enforcement officer and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is the largest low-cost carrier in the world. Herb Kelleher and Rollin King established the airline on March 15, 1967 as Air Southwest.
In 1971, the airline was renamed Southwest Airlines. It is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA.
On February 1, 2022, Robert Jordan became the new chief executive officer of Southwest Airlines. He is the sixth person to hold the position and a former executive vice president of corporate services for the airline.
River Ridge, Louisiana
River Ridge is a suburb of New Orleans, Louisiana. The boundaries of the suburb include Metairie to the north, Kenner to the northwest, Harahan to the east and the Mississippi River to the southwest.
In August 2019, a baseball team from River Ridge won the Little League World Series. It was the first team from Louisiana to win the annual baseball tournament for children.
