Islam Ramazanovich Makhachev (Исла́м Рамаза́нович Маха́чев) is a combat sambo fighter and a professional mixed martial artist. An ethnic Lak and a Muslim, he was born in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia and he grew up in Burshi, Dagestan.

As an MMA fighter, Makhachev has been fighting professionally since 2010. He is 5’10” tall and he competes in the lightweight division.

Makhachev competed in M-1 Global from February 12, 2011 to September 7, 2014 before signing a four-fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 2, 2014 at the age of 23. Here are 13 more things about him:
