Antony Starr, 46, of New Zealand is currently in Spain filming for a new film by Guy Ritchie, 53, of England, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, 41, of the United States and Dar Salim, 44, of Denmark. Starr plays the evil superhero John / Homelander in “The Boys.”
While intoxicated, Starr allegedly assaulted Bathuel Alejandro Araujo Moretti, 21, in the Costa Blanca in Alicante, Spain at around 2:30 a.m. on March 2, 2022. The victim is a chef born in Venezuela.
Starr allegedly hit Araujo with a glass after punching the chef in the jaw and near his left eye. The victim had to have four stitches to a wound above his left eye.
“You’ve committed the mistake of your life and I’m going to look for you,” Starr told Araujo, according to Daily Mail. “I want to kill you.”
That early morning, Starr was arrested, La Informacion reported. On March 4, 2022, he attended a speedy trial at a court in Alicante.
After Starr admitted the drunken assault on Araujo, the Alicante Court of Investigation Number Nine handed the actor a 12-month suspended prison sentence and ordered him to pay more than £4,000 ($5,464.97) in compensation. The actor would only escape having to serve time if he paid Araujo the money on or before March 6, 2022.
