Aarau, Switzerland’s Husein Kadimagomaev to fight for his 2nd BRAVE CF win in Bahrain

Husein “Lamen Borz’’ Kadimagomaev, 22, of Aarau, Switzerland is currently in Bahrain. He is set to fight Agshin “Warrior” Babaev, 24, of Azerbaijan at “BRAVE CF 57“, the first BRAVE Combat Federation event in 2022.

Featuring 12 professional mixed martial arts bouts and one amateur MMA fight, “BRAVE CF 57” will be held at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on March 11, 2022. In the sixth bout of the evening, Kadimagomaev and Babaev will battle it out in the lightweight division.

The two fighters were supposed to face each other at “BRAVE CF 52: Bad Blood” in August 2021 in Milan, Italy. However, the bout was cancelled because the Azerbaijani MMA fighter failed to secure a visa going to Milan in time for the fight.

“I waited so long for this fight and in a few days, it’s going to happen,” Kadimagomaev said. “Nothing changed. We were meant to fight one year ago in Italy and he didn’t have his visa.”

“BRAVE CF 57” marks Kadimagomaev’s third BRAVE CF fight. When he made his promotional debut at “BRAVE CF 40” in Sweden on August 24, 2020, he defeated Sven Fortenbacher of Germany via technical knockout via punches.

“I improved my striking, my wrestling, everything and I’m going to show everything in the fight,” Kadimagomaev said. “On March 11, I will be victorious.”

For Kadimagomaev, Babaev’s fighting style is the easiest style. However, the Swiss contender noted that his Azerbaijani opponent has good grappling.

“He’s dangerous because he can submit anyone but I have a surprise for Agshin,” Kadimagomaev said of Babaev. “If Agshin wants to go to the ground, it’s no problem. I feel at home on the ground.”

On March 11, 2021, Kadimagomaev lost to Tae Kyun Kim of South Korea via technical knockout via punches at “BRAVE CF 47” in Arad, Bahrain. The Swiss MMA fighter now holds a professional MMA record of 8 wins and 1 loss.

For “BRAVE CF 57,” Kadimagomaev prepared for two months. He said, “I lived in the gym and I am ready.”

A total of 16 countries are represented at “BRAVE CF 47.” These are Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland and Uzbekistan.

Kadimagomaev and Mohamed Said Maalem represent Switzerland. Babaev and Imram Magaramov represent Azerbaijan.

“BRAVE CF 57” is part of the BRAVE International Fight Week 2022, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The MMA Super Cup 2022 is also part of the combat sports event organized by BRAVE CF in cooperation with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and the Khalid Bin Hamad Sports Organization (KHK SPORTS).

In the main event of “BRAVE CF 57”, Hamza “The Pride of Bahrain” Kooheji, 29, of Bahrain and Brad “Superman” Katona, 30, of Canada will compete for the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship. Here is a recent interview with the latter:
