Tiblisi, Georgia’s Mikheil Sazhiniani to make BRAVE CF debut in Isa Town, Bahrain


Mikheil Sazhiniani, 25, of Tiblisi, Georgia is currently in Bahrain. He is set to fight Murtaza Talha Ali, 25, of Al-Muharraq, Bahrain at “BRAVE CF 57“, the first BRAVE Combat Federation event in 2022.

Featuring 12 professional mixed martial arts bouts and one amateur MMA fight, “BRAVE CF 57” will be held at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on March 11, 2022. In the fifth bout of the evening, Sazhiniani and Ali will battle it out in the light heavyweight division.

Aside from being of the same age, Sazhiniani and Ali are also both 6’0″ tall. Born in Dagestan, Russia, the Bahraini contender is an undefeated MMA fighter.


Sazhiniani holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 1 loss. He is the third MMA fighter from Georgia at BRAVE CF, following Guram Kutateladze and Ilia Topuria.

“BRAVE CF 57” marks Sazhiniani’s BRAVE CF debut. Before joining the Bahrain-based MMA promotion, he competed in Mglebi Fighting Championship, World Jaguar MMA Federation and World Full Combat Federation.


The only opponent Sazhiniani lost to was Masud Safari of Iran. On January 19, 2019, the Georgian MMA fighter lost to his Iranian opponent via technical knockout in Tbilisi.

On March 10, 2019, Sazhiniani defeated Mahmoud Rigi of Iran via technical knockout in Tbilisi. Amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020, the Georgian MMA fighter went on hiatus.

In 2021, Sazhiniani defeated four opponents via either knockout or technical knockout namely Archil Gogolashvili of Georgia, Shalva Metreveli of Georgia, Kazim Erol of Turkey and Shalva Metreveli of Georgia. On February 16, 2022, Sazhiniani defeated Konstantin Linnik of Ukraine via technical knockout in Tbilisi.


A total of 16 countries are represented at “BRAVE CF 47.” These are Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland and Uzbekistan.

Sazhiniani solely represents Georgia. Bahrain is represented by Ali, Hamza Kooheji, Abdulla Al Yaqoob and Husain Muhammad.


“BRAVE CF 57” is part of the BRAVE International Fight Week 2022, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The MMA Super Cup 2022 is also part of the combat sports event organized by BRAVE CF in cooperation with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and the Khalid Bin Hamad Sports Organization (KHK SPORTS).

In the main event of “BRAVE CF 57”, Hamza “The Pride of Bahrain” Kooheji, 29, of Bahrain and Brad “Superman” Katona, 30, of Canada will compete for the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship. Here is a recent interview with the latter:
