The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 coronation night will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 30, 2022. It will be the third edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Philippines’ official Miss Universe candidate.
On February 28, 2022, the names and photos of the 50 official Miss Universe Philippines 2022 delegates were released. I was disappointed when I saw the video clips of the candidates released on March 8, 2022 in time for the International Women’s Day, in which they answered the question, “What makes a woman uniquely beautiful?”
First, not all the candidates answered the question well. Second, the videos revealed how they really look like and some of them do not look like their respective photos released on February 28, 2022.
On March 12, 2022, their respective entries to the Headshot Challenge were released. I am happy to see that their hair and makeup in general were not overdone, which is common in beauty pageants.
Hair and makeup are supposed to enhance facial beauty not conceal the natural appearance of a person. Ironically, some beauty pageant contestants promote self-acceptance but wear too much makeup.
From 50, only 30 candidates will be selected to compete in the coronation night. Meanwhile, here are my 13 favorite headshots:
