Los Angeles, California’s Samantha Arizabal pleads not guilty to 3 counts of lewd acts on a minor

Samantha A. Arizabal, 24, Los Angeles, California, California has been working for the Los Angeles Unified School District since 2020. That year, she joined Ivy Bound Academy in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles as a teacher.

While employed at the school, Arizabal was allegedly involved in an inappropriate sexual conduct. Detectives from the Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section of the Los Angeles Police Department arrested her on March 15, 2022.

Later that day, Arizabal was released on bond after pleading not guilty to one count of distributing or showing pornography to a minor and three counts of lewd acts on a minor under the age of 14. She will be back in court on May 10, 2022.

Ivy Bound Academy is a charter school. Currently, it has approximately 190 students in grades 5-8.

The school called Arizbal’s alleged conduct “reprehensible and totally contrary” to its mission and values in a statement obtained by CBS Los Angeles. The school said, “Our deepest sympathies go out to the student and student’s family who have been impacted by this.”

The LAPD did not confirm whether or not Arizabal’s alleged victim is an Ivy Bound Academy student. Detectives investigating the case are asking anyone who may be a victim or has additional information regarding her to contact the department at (818) 374-5415.
