Miss Maine USA 2021 Veronica Iris Bates, 22, of Portland, Maine, United States will crown her successor at the Sheraton Sable Oaks in South Portland, Maine on March 20, 2022. It will be the 71st edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Maine’s official candidate for Miss USA, which selects the official Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.

Maine currently has nine Miss USA placements, the highest of which was the fourth runner-up finish of Katie Whittier in 2010. The most recent one was in 2018 when Marina Gray finished in the Top 10.

Bates was crowned Miss Maine USA 2021 at the Sheraton Sable Oaks on June 20, 2021. Runner-up to Bates was Sarah Phelps while Amanda Jean Hogg, Bethany Henneberry and Natalie Swift were the respective second, third and fourth runners-up.
