Miss Virginia USA 2021 Christina Thompson, 26, of Leesburg, Virginia, United States will crown her successor at the Merchant Hall of the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia on April 16, 2022. It is the 69th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Virginia’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
Currently, Virginia has 24 Miss USA placements including the coronation of Wendy Dascomb in 1969 and Deborah Shelton in 1970. Dascomb finished in the Top 15 at Miss Universe 1969 while Shelton was runner-up to Miss Universe 1970 Marisol Malaret of Puerto Rico.
Thompson finished in the Top 16 at Miss USA 2021. Representing Southwest Virginia, she was crowned Miss Virginia USA 2021 on July 17, 2021 with Alexis Ramsey of Chesapeake, Madeline Elizabeth Delp of North Bay, Hannah Scholl of Scottsville and Kailee Horvath of Shenandoah Valley as her respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up.
