Did Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Earl Lee Johnson Jr. stab Domino’s Pizza employee Janice David?

Earl Lee Johnson Jr., 35, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States was allegedly on a drug binge with Janice David, 34, from April 15-18, 2022. The latter was a Domino’s Pizza employee in Baton Rouge.

On the afternoon of April 18, 2022, Johnson used jumper cables to tie David’s hands to a car steering wheel before choking, beating and repeatedly stabbing her in a white BMW 5-Series on a Facebook Live video for about 15 minutes. He accused her of stealing his belongings and wanting to flee from him.

After a chase with the Baton Rouge Police Department, Johnson was arrested at around 5:30 p.m. on April 19, 2022 on an unrelated car theft case. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in Baton Rouge and initially charged with theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated flight form an officer. 

Shortly before 10 p.m., David was found dead inside a vehicle in the parking lot of an office building on Sherwood Forest Boulevard in Baton Rouge. It appeared someone tried to set the vehicle on fire. 

Later that night, Johnson admitted to murdering David. He was charged with first-degree murder.

It was not the first time Johnson was arrested. In 2005, he was arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish on several counts of armed robbery, possession of stolen firearms and receiving stolen goods. 

In 2007, Johnson was convicted of armed robbery. He was handed a 15-year sentence with credit for time served.
