Mount Holly, North Carolina’s Wayne Goff accused of indecent liberties with a child


Wayne Ray Goff, 52, of Mount Holly, Gaston County, North Carolina, United States is a former professional skateboarder. Aside from Mount Holly, he has lived in other parts of North Carolina including Charlotte, Mecklenburg County.

When Goff traveled for events and competitions, he would often take young skaters with him. He is accused of using his role as a skateboarding coach and mentor to sexually abuse children.


The alleged victims’ ages range from 7 to 16 at the time of the alleged crimes that happened between 1992 and 2010. In February 2022, one of them sent an email to the Special Victims Division of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, claiming that he was 13 years old when Goff sexually abused him in 1994.

None of the alleged victims know each other but they are all skaters in Charlotte, according to CMPD’s Crimes Against Children Unit detective Misty James. So far, seven boys and one girl have come forward to the department, accusing Goff of sexual abuse.  


On March 21, 2022, CMPD officers arrested Goff and charged him four counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of sex offense with a child regarding the sexual assault in 1994 of a child, then 13. The former professional skateboarder was placed under a $60,000 bond.

On May 2, 2022, Goff was arrested at his home in Mount Holly by CMPD and Mount Holly Police Department officers on 10 more warrants of indecent liberties. He is being held without bond in Gaston County Jail in Gastonia, Gaston County.

On May 4, 2022, Goff appeared before a judge virtually. On June 6, 2022, he will appear in court again.
