Miss Maryland USA 2021 Layilah Nasser, 27, of Montgomery Village, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States will crown her successor at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland on May 15, 2022. It is the 70th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Maryland’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.

Currently, Maryland has 24 Miss USA placements. Representing the state, Mary Leona Gage won the title in 1957 while both Paulette Reck and Nana Meriwether in 1968 and in 2012, respectively.

Nasser was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2021 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on July 15, 2021. Representing Maryland, she finished in the Top 8 at Miss USA 2022 on November 29, 2021.
